On November 19 the newly formed Twist Out Cancer Canada hosted Toronto's inaugural Brushes With Cancer to raise funds to support those touched by cancer. Global TV's Liem Vu hosted the night and welcomed guests to an evening that celebrated survivorship and hope through art, music and storytelling.
Cancer survivors and caregivers were asked to share their experiences (lessons learned, fighting strategies and new perspectives) with the artists they were matched with. From the shared experiences artists created 22 unique pieces of art that were auctioned off at #BrushesTO. The funds raised will support Twist Out Cancer's expansion into Canada

Preliminary totals show $35,000 of cash in kind donations were raised that will help start Twist Out Cancer Canada. Twist Out Cancer Canada's programming will focus on:
- Health and Wellness programs
- Support through Art
- Twist Out Cancer Workshops
- Support 3rd party programming to harness the power of collaboration.
- Offer micro grants to individuals running programs that fit our mandate
